February 2015 Loot Crate Review: Play

February 20, 2015

Loot Crate is a monthly geek and gamer swag subscription box. Each month they send 6 to 8 handpicked items for $13.37 plus $6 shipping and handling. Each box are guaranteed to have a value of $30 or more. The box is shipped via USPS Priority Mail and most times arrive in about 2 days which is very awesome.

The theme for February is Play. You'll find items from Pac-Man, Hex, and board games. Heres what i received from Loot Crate this month:

Ready Player One Novel: I loved the fact that they went with a book this time. I do love me some good reading and I heard this was a good one so glad I didn’t have to spend a lot of money for it. Do you know how much a book still costs these days?! Its insane. Estimated retail cost for the book is $10.

DIY Munny Figure: I’ve had a few of these, mostly the knock off DIY ones from a craft store. I have no creativity so I most likely won’t use this, i’ll probably give this to a friend who is an artist and can make something really neat. Estimated retail cost for the item is $12.

Hexbug: Eh, I guess this was a semi ok item. I think if I was 10 and playing with bugs was the greatest thing on earth then this would have been cool. Estimated retail cost for the toy is $10.

Waka-Waka Poster: I’m not to fond of posters these days, especially when I have a TON of them already and i’m very picky with them. I think if this print was on a shirt it would have been a whole lot more awesome. Estimated retail cost for the poster is $8.

EXCLUSIVE Looter Edition SUPERFIGHT Card Game: Ive never heard of Superfight, it sorta reminds me of Cards Against Humanity but with superheroes. Estimated retail cost for the cards are $15.

EXCLUSIVE Rock-Paper-Scissors Dice Game: I find this one a big strange and honestly a bit cheap. Estimated retail cost for the dice are $2.

EXCLUSIVE Firefly Online Premium Ship Unlock Code: Yea…I didn’t know this game existed and i’ve never watched any Firefly episodes. I’m not really sure those exactly what you get with this, it seems as tho 3 of the 4 they included were concept arts but the one I got was to unlock a gun? I’m not exactly sure.

Themed Button: Button Swag, at least they decided to keep this in for the collection.

Loot Crate Unboxing Guide: Every Loot Crate comes with a booklet that explains every item in the box and where it comes from.

Themed Box: The box is designed to be a board game, the guide has cut out pieces in the back to use with it and I believe you use the dice with it.
